Many years ago, I became involved in this special breed and fell in love!! I spent several years along with a friend traveling across Ontario and through the US trialing and competing with my dogs. It was a great time and I miss it dearly... Due to personal commitments I gave up promoting and competing but was very proud of what my gang had done. A a few years back my family and I were able to build an office onto our primary business building... Sadly during the move all of my files from Salt Water JRTs were either misplaced or accidentally thrown away.... This resulted in my losing touch with many of the Salt Water Terriers I have parted with... My puppy's contracts would now have old contact information as all of our information from our email to our phone numbers have changed!! Without my own copies of those contracts I am hoping this site will bring any of my pups searching for me to me!!
One of the terriers I am so hoping to track down is Rip, he is a sweet boy and when I decided I could no longer keep the numbers I had, I altered Rip & found the perfect home for Rip with a family I was aware was looking from Nova Scotia. The Deon's have since moved to Western Canada, We have lost touch as I do not know their new (Or Old thanks to the lost contracts) address or information. To make matters worse they have a contract with all of my old information on it.... It is my real hope and desire that they may decide to try and look me up and find this website as Rip's very needed for a valuable contribution of blood towards the genetic study of PLL!!
Mindy is my dream dog, my first Terrier and she was to be the foundation of Salt Water.... However sometimes things just don't go as you dreamed... With my lifestyle changes it was decided to spay Mindy and now the time had passed for her to be a part of my future plans should I decide to re enter the JRT world of trials and all that goes with it.. I have also decided should I get a terrier to promote again it will get worked far more than the times mine were able to.
Mindy excelled at performance events, she was a multiple Racing Champ, Trailing and Locating and Lure Coursing Champ and also has been a nice steady Agility dog with limited training and trials.
Though she is a Vet now, I hope to get her out to play this summer.
Diamond, Aka Salt Water Shubie was from my very first litter, I was very excited to trial and promote her!! At one of her very first trials, the JRTCC National trial she won her class against very nice terriers and I was so proud!! I was excited and looked forward to what she could provide me in the future.... Di wound up having a scare at a trial and it affected her confidence, so she did not have a conformation career as a result, however in the end it was for the best, Diamond wound up with Cataracts at age 6 and went totally blind very quickly. Cataracts are a problem in the breed, however typically they are only detectable via a CERF test, it is not that common for them to totally blind the terrier. She does very well though and unless I told you, you'd never guess she was blind!!
She occupies a special spot on our couch, and will for the rest of her days!
